TARLAC CITY, Philippines – A testament to the enduring legacy of democracy, good governance, and public service, the Aquino Center and Museum officially reopened its doors today, February 25, 2025. The reopening coincides with the eve of the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, a historic event that reshaped the nation’s political landscape.
The museum, located along Luisita Access Road in Tarlac City, serves as a repository of the lives and contributions of the Aquino family, particularly the late President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III. The center invites visitors to rediscover the principles he upheld—freedom, transparency, and integrity in governance—continuing the legacy set by his parents, the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. and former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino.
As part of the reopening celebration, the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation (NCAF) unveiled PNoy: Filipino, a commemorative photobook offering an intimate glimpse into the presidency of Noynoy Aquino. The 200-page volume features a collection of published and unpublished photographs, primarily captured by former presidential photographer Gil Nartea, with contributions from other Palace photographers.

According to NCAF Executive Director Kiko Aquino Dee, the book not only highlights Aquino’s leadership but also seeks to present him as he truly was—an individual who often shied away from the limelight despite his pivotal role in the country’s governance.
“What [the book team] had to work with were a lot of official photos, with a few candid shots captured by Tata Gil (Nartea) and other Palace photographers’ agile eyes,” Dee shared in the book’s foreword. “I hope that the Noy of the 1980s, who fought the dictatorship on the streets, and the Noy of the 2000s, who worked with people’s organizations in opposition, is pleased.”

Renowned journalist Thelma Sioson San Juan, who spoke at the event, underscored Aquino’s leadership as proof that democracy and progress can thrive without violence. “Kung walang corrupt, walang mahirap,” she quoted—a core principle of Aquino’s administration. “From world leaders who walked alongside him, to ordinary Filipinos he sought to serve, their voices form the narrative of this book. This is a story that must be told.”

The launch of PNoy: Filipino reinforces Aquino’s achievements in governance, including strengthening democratic institutions, boosting the economy, asserting the nation’s sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea, and championing the dignity of the Filipino people. The photobook will be available to the public starting March 2025.
Meanwhile, guided tours of the museum are scheduled at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. Visitors interested in securing a slot are encouraged to contact Mariz or Grace at 09478064545 for reservations.
