In a robust week of anti-drug operations from February 17 to 23, 2025, the Bicol region’s Police Regional Office (PRO-5) reported a significant haul of illegal substances valued at over PHP5 million. The crackdown led to the arrest of 37 suspects across the region’s six provinces and one city. PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andrei Dizon announced on February 24 that the operations resulted in the seizure of 745.02 grams of shabu and 3.97 grams of marijuana. Naga City topped the list with the highest confiscation value at PHP3,515,720, followed by Camarines Sur, Albay, Masbate, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, and Sorsogon. Dizon praised the teams for their dedication, emphasizing the importance of public vigilance and cooperation in the ongoing fight against drugs. In a related development, Dizon participated in a ceremonial signing of a memorandum of agreement with Radyo Pilipinas Albay to enhance the dissemination of information about the government’s vision for a ‘new Philippines.’ This initiative includes weekly radio airtime for PRO-5 on DWJS Radyo Pilipinas Albay, and was joined by several other government agencies, including the Civil Service Commission, Philippine Coast Guard, and others, all signing their respective agreements.
