DILG Secretary Vows to Crack Down on Politically Active Police Officers

In a bold move to maintain the integrity of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla has declared a strict policy against officers engaging in partisan politics. Remulla emphasized his commitment to prosecuting any PNP members found violating this rule, ensuring that legal processes are meticulously followed. He pointed to his track record of dealing decisively with misconduct, particularly within the PNP, as evidence of his resolve. Remulla referenced the successful prosecution of officers involved in a massive drug bust in Tondo, Manila, in 2022, as a testament to his swift action against corruption. PNP chief Gen.
