In a relentless effort to combat drug-related crimes, the Zamboanga Peninsula police have successfully seized illegal drugs valued at PHP9.1 million through 172 operations since the start of the year. These operations, as reported by the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9), have led to the apprehension of 188 suspects, among them five high-value targets. A notable operation on February 5 in Zamboanga City’s Barangay Kasanyangan resulted in the arrest of two high-value individuals and the confiscation of PHP3.74 million worth of suspected shabu, along with a .38-caliber revolver and ammunition. Brig. Gen. Roel Rodolfo, director of PRO-9, emphasized the importance of these arrests and seizures in diminishing the power of drug syndicates in the region. He highlighted the ongoing commitment of the police force to intensify their efforts against the illegal drug trade, aiming to enhance public safety and well-being. These operations reflect the police’s unwavering dedication to reducing drug-related crimes and maintaining peace and order in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
