Police Seize PHP2.21 Million in Illegal Drugs in Misamis Oriental Operations

In a significant blow to the illegal drug trade, law enforcement officials in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, successfully confiscated PHP2.21 million worth of illegal drugs during two operations conducted early Friday morning. The operations were part of a broader anti-drug campaign led by the Police Regional Office in Northern Mindanao (PRO-10).

Brig. Gen. Jaysen de Guzman, director of PRO-10, reported that the police executed search warrants at the homes of suspects involved in the drug trade. The first operation targeted a suspect known as ‘Boboy’ in Zone 11, Siyayon, where authorities seized seven large heat-sealed plastic sachets containing approximately 75 grams of suspected shabu, valued at PHP510,000. The suspect was not present during the raid.

An hour later, another operation was carried out against a suspect named ‘Cardo’ at a different residence in the same area. Although ‘Cardo’ managed to evade capture, the police seized 28 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 250 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP1.7 million.

De Guzman emphasized the importance of community vigilance and cooperation in combating illegal drug activities, urging residents to report any suspicious behavior to the authorities.

In related news, the Police Retirement and Benefits Service (PRBS) launched the ‘Serbis Bilis’ caravan at the PRO-10 headquarters in Cagayan de Oro City. The initiative, which included signing a memorandum of understanding with various stakeholders, aims to enhance access to medical care, educational and vocational opportunities, and pension services for retired police personnel. Brig. Gen. Dindo Reyes, director of PRBS, assured that the service would continue to innovate and improve to ensure retirees receive their benefits efficiently and with dedication.
