In a move that has sparked joy among the workforce, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) 11 in Davao Region has approved a significant PHP29 increase in the daily minimum wage for private sector employees. This decision, effective from March 7, was announced via a vibrant social media post by the board. Following an exhaustive review of the region’s socio-economic landscape and engaging dialogues with various stakeholders, the RTWPB-XI issued Wage Order No. RB XI-23. This order promises a brighter future for non-agriculture workers, whose minimum wage will jump from PHP481 to PHP510. Similarly, agriculture workers will see their daily earnings rise from PHP476 to PHP505. This adjustment comes just over a year after the last wage hike, which was implemented on March 6, 2024, signaling a continuous effort to improve living standards in the region.
