In a powerful rally in Dumaguete City, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. rallied support for the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate, emphasizing their commitment to advancing public interests and welfare over instilling fear. Marcos highlighted that the candidates, drawn from various political parties, have united under the Alyansa banner to foster national development and improve governance.
Addressing the crowd, Marcos declared, ‘Our direction is clear. We aim to develop the Philippines, not oppress it. The solution lies in development, not fear, and in enhancing our government’s operations.’ He stressed the importance of promoting the interests and welfare of every Filipino, advocating for sovereignty and rights with diplomacy and dignity.
Marcos also reassured voters of the administration’s dedication to the country, emphasizing a shared resolve to protect Philippine territory and resist foreign influence. He criticized past approaches to illegal drugs and crime, advocating instead for robust laws, effective law enforcement, and strong support from police and local officials to tackle national issues.
The President underscored the unity among the diverse political parties forming the Alyansa, including the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats, Nationalist People’s Coalition, Nacionalista Party, and National Unity Party. The 12 candidates on the Alyansa slate include notable figures such as former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay, and several senators and former senators, all committed to the shared goal of national progress.
