In a significant crackdown on illegal drug activities, the Philippine National Police (PNP) successfully apprehended three suspects and confiscated PHP14.4 million worth of shabu in coordinated operations across Makati City and Cebu province. The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported that two individuals, known by the aliases Wewel and Madam, both 28 years old, were captured during a buy-bust operation at a condominium in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City. The arrest took place around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Authorities seized 1.3 kilograms of shabu, valued at PHP8.84 million, along with mobile phones and the money used in the sting operation. The duo faces charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and will be prosecuted in Makati City. In a separate operation, the PNP Drug Enforcement Group nabbed a high-value target, alias Arman, aged 43, in Barangay Mantuyom, Mandaue City, Cebu, at approximately 12:36 a.m. on Thursday. The seizure included 825 grams of suspected shabu, estimated at PHP5.6 million, and other non-drug items. These operations underscore the relentless efforts of the PNP to combat the drug menace in the Philippines.
