In a disturbing incident in Isabela City, Basilan, a local village councilor and her husband were injured in a targeted shooting. The attack took place around 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday, as the couple traveled on a motorcycle. Lt. Col. Raymond Sanson, the head of the Isabela City Police, confirmed the identities of the victims as Rowena Repono, aged 51, a councilor from Barangay Eastside, and her 54-year-old husband, Dominick. Following the assault, the perpetrators escaped, leaving behind four .45-caliber pistol shells at the scene. The victims were promptly transported to a hospital for treatment. This violent episode marks the first shooting in Isabela City since the implementation of the election gun ban on January 12.
