In 2024, Davao City’s market operations brought in a total of PHP134 million in revenue, according to the City Economic Enterprises (CEE). This figure marks a 6.5 percent increase from the previous year’s earnings of PHP128.1 million. The CEE emphasized their commitment to enhancing market operations to bolster the city’s economic development. The agency is responsible for managing eight public markets, including Bankerohan, Agdao, Calinan, Mintal, Tibungco, Bunawan, Lasang, and Toril. Among these, Bankerohan Public Market has been the leading performer since 2019, generating PHP60.7 million in revenue last year. Agdao Public Market also contributed significantly, with PHP35.3 million in earnings. To maintain high standards, the CEE carried out 34 initiatives, such as preventive maintenance, sanitation drives, inspections, and food safety workshops, ensuring vendors adhere to the updated revenue code.
