MANILA – The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has reaffirmed its dedication to supporting Special Class Business Process Outsourcing (SCBPO) companies, emphasizing their significant role in job creation for Filipinos. PAGCOR’s chair and CEO, Alejandro Tengco, expressed gratitude towards foreign investors for recognizing the exceptional skills of Filipino workers who deliver top-notch outsourced services.
Tengco highlighted that SCBPOs are instrumental in supporting business operations abroad, particularly in the gaming sector. These companies, licensed by PAGCOR, cater exclusively to international gaming firms. Unlike typical BPOs, SCBPOs focus on supporting legitimate overseas gaming companies by offering services such as human resources, marketing, graphic design, accounting, and other administrative tasks.
PAGCOR ensures that SCBPOs do not engage directly in gaming activities like taking or soliciting bets. Currently, the SCBPO sector employs nearly 5,000 local workers, with plans for expansion in both operations and local employment. This growth is driven by the high regard foreign principals have for the talent of Filipino workers.
SCBPOs are required to maintain a workforce that is at least 95% Filipino, providing quality job opportunities and salaries that exceed industry standards. Tengco expressed optimism about the industry’s potential and PAGCOR’s commitment to fostering its growth and increasing employment opportunities for Filipinos.
