In Cagayan de Oro City, the Provincial Engineer’s Office announced that the water expansion project in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, is close to being finished. This initiative, supported by the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, aims to rehabilitate regions impacted by the 2017 siege, excluding the most severely affected zones. The Marawi City Water District is set to manage the distribution of water once the project is fully operational. Despite being nearly complete, the project still has some minor issues to address. Representative Ziaur-Rahman Adiong from Lanao del Sur’s 1st District reported that 95% of the PHP400 million project has been completed. Adiong expressed his dedication to the city’s recovery and refuted claims of his involvement in the project’s funding allocation.
