·

In a disturbing incident in Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental, police are actively investigating the abduction of two siblings, believed to be connected to business disputes. The siblings, known only as Julius and Joan, were taken from Julius’s piggery farm on February 14, 2025, by six suspects who arrived on three motorcycles. The suspects restrained ten farm workers and forced the siblings to leave with them. The farm workers later freed themselves and reported the incident.

Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson for the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), stated that the family of the abducted siblings has provided names of potential suspects. The police are currently exploring these leads, although the exact motive remains unclear. Family members suspect that the abduction may be linked to business interests.

The victims, residents of Barangay Palinpinpinon in Valencia, Negros Oriental, were at the farm in Sitio Lumang-e, Barangay Maluay when the incident occurred around 11 a.m. Witnesses reported that the abductors spoke in a different dialect, adding another layer of complexity to the investigation.

As of February 18, 2025, Julius and Joan remain missing, presumed to still be held by their abductors. Police stations across the region have been alerted and are on high alert to assist in the search and potential recovery of the siblings.
