In a robust week of anti-drug operations from February 10 to 16, 2025, the Bicol Police Regional Office (PRO-5) successfully confiscated illegal drugs valued at over PHP1.5 million and apprehended 32 individuals involved in drug-related activities. The operations, detailed in a report released on Monday, February 17, 2025, showcased the effectiveness of the police’s strategic efforts across the region.
Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon, the director of PRO-5, highlighted that the week’s efforts included 24 operations, leading to the seizure of 223.54 grams of shabu and 6 grams of marijuana. The breakdown of the confiscations showed Camarines Norte leading with PHP637,876 worth of drugs seized, followed by Camarines Sur at PHP400,520, Albay at PHP328,440, Masbate at PHP74,800, Naga City at PHP72,556, and Sorsogon at PHP6,600. Notably, Catanduanes reported no drug seizures during this period.
Dizon emphasized the police’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drugs from Bicol, stating that the force would continue to employ intelligence-driven tactics, aggressive operations, and community engagement to dismantle drug networks. He called on the public to play their part by reporting any suspicious drug-related activities, reinforcing that a drug-free Bicol is a collective responsibility.
PRO-5 is also focused on strengthening collaborations with local government units, community organizations, and other stakeholders to maintain the momentum of their anti-drug campaign. The public is encouraged to use PRO-5’s hotlines and social media platforms to report any drug-related concerns.
