CIDG Busts P25 Million Illegal LPG Operation in Caloocan

·

In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) executed a raid in Caloocan City, seizing PHP25 million worth of unauthorized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders. The operation took place at an LPG Refilling Station located in Barangay 163, Sta. Quiteria, following a search warrant issued by a local court for the illegal sale and distribution of petroleum products. CIDG chief Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III announced the successful operation on Sunday, highlighting the seizure of various equipment including large and small filling scales, hoses, nozzles, and trucks used in the illegal refilling and transportation of LPG. Eight employees were apprehended during the raid, though none of the company’s owners were present at the time. The arrested individuals now face charges under Batas Pambansa 33 and Republic Act 11592, laws aimed at protecting public interest and regulating the LPG industry.
