MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecasted that a significant portion of the Philippines will see rain on Saturday, influenced by the shear line, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), and the easterlies. According to the 5 a.m. weather bulletin, Batanes and the Babuyan Islands are expected to have cloudy conditions with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line. The ITCZ and easterlies will bring similar weather conditions to mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, the Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sarangani, and Surigao del Sur, with cloudy skies and scattered rains accompanied by thunderstorms. The rest of Mindanao, Metro Manila, and other parts of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the ITCZ and easterlies. PAGASA has issued warnings about the potential for flash floods or landslides in areas experiencing prolonged moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms. Additionally, moderate to strong winds and rough seas are anticipated in Northern Luzon, while the rest of the country may see light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
