MANILA – On Valentine’s Day, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) spread joy by distributing school supplies and hosting various activities at ports across the country. PPA General Manager Jay Santiago announced that approximately 500 students from Manila Science High School would receive essential educational tools, including a computer, printer, scanner, office furniture, and other equipment. Santiago emphasized the importance of supporting students, especially in science and technology, to nurture future industry leaders. In addition to the educational support, PPA’s Port Management Offices (PMO) nationwide engaged in festive activities. In Surigao, Agusan, Negros Oriental/Siquijor, and Zamboanga, passengers were treated to serenades and chocolate giveaways. PMO NCR-North delighted port users with flowers, bread, and a choir performance. Meanwhile, PMO Misamis Oriental/Cagayan, Negros Occidental, Bacolod, and Banago Bredco organized a singing contest, photo booth, and tree-planting event for both passengers and employees. Other PMOs, such as Northern Luzon, conducted a Zumba class and a cleanup drive on the port access road, while PMO Marinduque/Quezon offered a life insurance seminar for its workers. Furthermore, PMO NCR-South planned a blood donation drive on February 26 in collaboration with the National Children’s Hospital.
