Cebu City Boosts Security with 30 New Police Outposts

·

In a strategic move to combat crime, the Cebu City Police Office has established 30 new outposts throughout the city’s central areas. This initiative, announced by Police Chief Col. Enrico Figueroa, aims to enhance police presence and responsiveness to criminal activities. Each outpost is staffed by two officers, one stationed at the post and the other patrolling the surrounding area. These outposts, equipped with essential tools like blinkers, megaphones, and radio communication devices, are positioned at key locations to maximize their effectiveness in deterring crime. The deployment is a collaborative effort between the Cebu City Police Office, the Police Regional Office-7, and the local government. Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia has praised the initiative and committed to supporting the police with additional resources, including mobile cars, motorcycles, and surveillance drones, especially in light of recent petty crimes and the upcoming election period.
