In a recent visit to Iloilo City for a national rally organized by Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, Senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla Jr. expressed his commitment to revising the national Building Code to better protect against seismic activities. Speaking ahead of the rally on February 13, 2025, the senator, who is running for re-election, stressed the importance of evaluating existing buildings to decide whether they need reinforcement or should be torn down for public safety.
Revilla also pointed out the critical need for a comprehensive strategy to tackle the increasing flood issues across the country. He supported the initiative led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to develop a master plan for flood control.
During his campaign stop, Revilla appealed to the voters of Iloilo by showcasing his extensive legislative achievements. He has been involved in over 2,000 pieces of legislation, with 343 of them becoming law. Some of his significant contributions include the Anti-No Permit, No Exam Law, the Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act, and the Expanded Centenarians Law, which extends benefits to centenarians.
