Palayan City Residents and Officials Express Gratitude for National Housing Initiative

·

In a heartfelt acknowledgment, Palayan City Mayor Viandrei Nicole Cuevas and numerous beneficiaries have extended their thanks to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) for the successful rollout of the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program in Nueva Ecija. The initiative, part of a broader national effort, is constructing 22 buildings across a 23-hectare site, aiming to provide approximately 6,300 housing units.

The ceremonial handover of housing units from the Palayan City Township Project was officiated by President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos in December 2024. The local government has begun the initial distribution of units in a condominium-style development and continues to process applications. By March, 1,076 units are expected to be handed over to beneficiaries, with another 1,076 units scheduled for completion and turnover in July.

Mayor Cuevas highlighted the affordability of the project, crediting the partnership with the national government and the subsidies provided by DHSUD as crucial to its success. She noted the comprehensive infrastructure, including developed road networks and full utility services, as evidence of the effective collaboration.

The project is not limited to Palayan City residents but is open to all Filipinos, aligning with the administration’s goal to provide housing nationwide. Beneficiaries like Moises Jerickson Alejo have shared personal stories of how the program has fulfilled their dreams of homeownership, transitioning from simple huts to modern condominiums with amenities.

Another beneficiary, Jovan Sohaco, encouraged others to seize the affordable housing opportunity. DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar praised the dedication of the Palayan City local government and reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring all Filipinos have access to safe, decent, and affordable homes.
