In Cagayan de Oro City, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is actively working to broaden its health insurance services to include the indigenous peoples (IPs) of Bukidnon. Romulo Lapuz Jr., the head of PhilHealth’s local health insurance office in Bukidnon, announced that the organization is targeting to offer free health insurance to the seven tribes residing in the province. Lapuz expressed optimism about finalizing a memorandum of agreement with these indigenous groups before the year concludes, which would streamline the registration process and enhance service delivery to these communities. Additionally, Delio Aseron II, Vice President of PhilHealth Region 10, highlighted the launch of new health packages in celebration of National Health Insurance Month. Aseron emphasized PhilHealth’s commitment to furthering the National Health Insurance Program and promoting Universal Health Care for the 5.2 million residents of Northern Mindanao.
