MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Tuesday that the majority of the Philippines will continue to be drenched by rain, influenced by three distinct weather systems. The shear line is set to bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms to the Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Quezon, and Aurora. Similarly, the easterlies will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms in Caraga and Davao. PAGASA has warned that these areas could experience moderate to heavy rainfall, potentially leading to flash floods or landslides. The northeast monsoon, known locally as ‘amihan,’ is expected to bring rain to Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon, with light rains scattered across the rest of Luzon. The easterlies will also bring isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms to the rest of Mindanao. Additionally, Luzon and Visayas are forecasted to have moderate to strong winds and rough coastal waters, while Mindanao will see lighter winds and moderate seas. PAGASA confirmed that no low pressure areas are currently being monitored for potential tropical cyclone development.
