·

In a bid to safeguard minors from exploitation, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has announced heightened surveillance around inns and motels on Valentine’s Day. Lt. Col. Maria Theresa Macatangay, the deputy director for operations at CCPO, emphasized the police’s commitment to preventing human trafficking, particularly of young individuals, during the romantic holiday. The police will collaborate closely with motel and inn management to ensure a strong police presence and deter any potential exploitation. Additionally, the CCPO is joining forces with the Anti-Cyber Crime Group to monitor and combat ‘love scams’ proliferating on online platforms. Macatangay urged the public to celebrate Valentine’s Day responsibly and stay clear of criminal activities.
