Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has extended an invitation to Philippine airlines to consider expanding their services into Cambodia. This invitation was made public during a joint statement following his bilateral discussions with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at Malacañan Palace in Manila. Hun Manet specifically highlighted the potential for new flight routes within Cambodia.

He emphasized Cambodia’s readiness to facilitate this expansion by mentioning the newly operational Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport, which serves as a gateway to the historical city of Angkor. Additionally, he pointed out the upcoming Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh, set to open later this year, as another significant development.

In response, President Marcos expressed the Philippines’ openness to business, inviting Cambodian investors to explore opportunities in the Philippines. He also praised the success of a recent Cambodian business forum, which Hun Manet attended, noting its role in fostering networking and potential business collaborations between the private sectors of both countries.

Marcos expressed optimism about the future of economic relations, anticipating increased investments from Filipinos in Cambodia and vice versa. He reiterated the Philippines’ eagerness to partner with Cambodia for mutual commercial success.
