The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has inaugurated a new computer-based testing center in Cebu City, marking a significant step towards enhancing the accessibility of professional licensure exams across the Philippines. The facility, located at the GMC Plaza Building near Plaza Independencia, was officially opened on Monday, February 10, 2025, and can handle up to 282 examinees simultaneously.

PRC Commissioner Erwin Enad, present at the launch, expressed his enthusiasm about the expansion of computer-based testing facilities nationwide. He highlighted that Cebu’s new center is part of a broader initiative to establish eight such facilities across various regions, including Metro Manila, Ilocos, Calabarzon, Bicol, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Davao.

Enad emphasized the PRC’s commitment to making licensure exams more accessible to professionals and technicians throughout the country. He noted that the introduction of these centers is a move towards modernizing the examination process and ensuring that it meets the needs of a growing professional community.

To ensure uninterrupted service during exam days, PRC-Central Visayas Director Narcival Taquiqui confirmed that discussions have been held with the Visayan Electric Company to prevent any power disruptions.
