In a successful crackdown on illegal drug activities, the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) announced the seizure of illegal drugs valued at over PHP1.45 million from February 3 to 9, 2025. The operations, which spanned across the region, led to the arrest of 43 suspects involved in drug-related crimes. According to PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon, the weeklong effort included 25 operations that resulted in the confiscation of 213 grams of shabu and 12 grams of marijuana. The province of Camarines Sur topped the list with the highest drug seizure amounting to PHP523,962, closely followed by Camarines Norte at PHP521,944. Other provinces reported varying amounts, with Albay seizing PHP258,876 and PHP160,160 in two separate operations, Masbate at PHP102,000, and Naga City at PHP43,520. No significant drug seizures were reported in Catanduanes and Sorsogon during this period. Dizon emphasized the importance of public vigilance in combating drug-related activities and commended the PRO-5 personnel for their dedication and service in upholding the mission of the Philippine National Police, fostering professionalism and discipline within the force.
