MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Saturday that the shear line and the northeast monsoon will continue to cause cloudy conditions and rainfall across multiple regions of the Philippines. According to the 4 a.m. bulletin, areas such as the Visayas, Bicol Region, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Aurora are set to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms. PAGASA has cautioned that these regions could face flash floods or landslides due to the intensity of the rainfall, which may range from moderate to heavy. Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordilleras, and the rest of Central Luzon are also expected to see cloudy skies with rain, influenced by the northeast monsoon. The same weather system will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with light, isolated rains to the rest of Luzon. In the southern part of the country, Caraga and Davao Region will likely see cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, while the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Additionally, PAGASA reported that strong to gale-force winds and rough to very rough coastal waters are expected in Northern Luzon and the eastern part of Central Luzon. Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will affect the Visayas, the eastern part of Southern Luzon, and the western part of Central Luzon. The rest of the country will experience lighter winds and calmer seas.
