Clark International Airport Secures Permanent Aerodrome Certification, Bolstering Its Role as a Key Philippine Gateway

·

Clark International Airport (CRK) has achieved a significant milestone by receiving the Permanent Aerodrome Certificate, solidifying its status as a crucial hub for both international and domestic flights in the Philippines. The certificate was proudly displayed by key figures including Noel Manankil, CEO and President of Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD), Capt. Manuel Antonio Lara Tamayo, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), and Joshua Bingcang, CEO of Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), during a ceremony on February 7, 2025.

Manankil emphasized the importance of this achievement, stating that it reflects the hard work and dedication of the CRK team in ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellence in airport services. The certification, awarded by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and CAAP, confirms that CRK adheres to stringent international safety, security, and efficiency standards.

The Permanent Aerodrome Certificate not only validates CRK’s operational capabilities but also elevates its status as a world-class aviation facility. The airport’s facilities, services, and equipment have been thoroughly evaluated and found compliant with the CAAP Manual of Standards, demonstrating the operator’s competence and expertise.

This recognition comes at a pivotal time as CRK gears up for an anticipated surge in aircraft and passenger traffic. The airport is set to handle increased operations, including the transfer of turboprop flights from Manila, as decided by the Manila Slot Coordination Committee. Starting March 30, Cebgo will commence flights to Siargao and Masbate from CRK, while Cebu Pacific will launch daily services to El Nido and Coron (Busuanga), further expanding its operations at the Clark hub.

Manankil expressed that this accolade motivates CRK to uphold the highest standards of excellence and innovation in aviation, as the airport continues to play a vital role in connecting the world.
