In a significant ceremony held at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City on February 6, 2025, a total of 744 police officers from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) were promoted and sworn into their new ranks. The event marked a pivotal moment for these officers, as they were encouraged by their leaders to elevate their performance and commitment to community service.
NOCPPO Director Col. Rainerio de Chavez, addressing the 527 promoted officers from his command and national support units of the Philippine National Police (PNP), emphasized that promotions are a testament to the officers’ hard work and dedication. He challenged them to embrace their new roles with pride and responsibility, fostering an environment of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Among the NOCPPO promotions, 475 were from the provincial office itself, with others coming from specialized units such as the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, PNP Maritime Group, Aviation Group, Anti-Kidnapping Group, and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
BCPO Director Col. Joeresty Coronica, speaking to the 217 promoted officers from his office, stressed that with promotion comes increased responsibility. He urged them to match their new ranks with higher performance levels, readiness for new challenges, and potential reassignments to further their leadership and professional development. Of the BCPO promotions, 208 were non-commissioned officers and nine were commissioned officers.
Both directors highlighted the importance of stepping out of comfort zones and embracing the new roles as crucial steps in their career progression and service to the community.
