In a significant event at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City, 2,677 police officers from the Western Visayas Police Regional Office (PRO6) and national support units (NSUs) were promoted to higher ranks during a mass oath-taking ceremony on Thursday, February 6, 2027. The ceremony saw 2,562 officers from PRO6 and 115 from NSUs taking their oaths. Among the promoted were 17 new lieutenants and eight captains from PRO6, alongside 16 lieutenants and 11 captains from the NSUs. Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, the director of PRO6, addressed the newly promoted officers, urging them to lead in implementing the new strategic direction of Technology-Oriented Policing (TOP). Wanky emphasized the importance of setting higher performance standards to avoid complacency and mediocrity. He highlighted that the promotions serve as both a reward for past achievements and a challenge to enhance their service to the organization.
