First Gen to Power Industrial Printer with Renewable Energy and Efficiency Solutions

First Gen Corporation, a leading renewable energy provider, has renewed its commitment to supply clean energy to Precision Crestec Inc., an industrial printing company based in Pasig City. The agreement includes providing 700 kilowatts of renewable energy to the facility, enhancing its sustainability efforts.

In addition to the energy supply, First Gen’s affiliate, Pi Energy Inc., will implement energy efficiency solutions at Precision Crestec. This collaboration aims to help the printing company optimize its power usage and reduce electricity costs while minimizing its environmental impact.

Carlo Lorenzo Vega, First Gen’s vice president and chief customer engagement officer, emphasized the importance of such partnerships in enabling industrial firms to make informed decisions about energy consumption and reduce their carbon footprint through renewable energy.

The relationship between First Gen and Precision Crestec began in 2021, driven by the latter’s commitment to meet customer demands for more sustainable supply chains and products. Purificacion Dizon, president of Precision Crestec, highlighted their focus on delivering durable, cost-effective, and eco-friendly packaging solutions that enhance product safety and brand visibility while keeping carbon emissions low.

First Gen’s renewable energy portfolio currently stands at 1,651 megawatts, sourced from solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power plants, alongside 2,017 megawatts from natural gas facilities. The Department of Energy reports that between 2021 and 2022, businesses invested PHP6.8 billion in energy efficiency and conservation initiatives.

Energy efficiency solutions that companies can adopt include lighting retrofits, automated lighting control systems, upgrades to heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, boiler replacements, and other similar technologies.
