DepEd Bicol Encourages Early Enrollment for Upcoming School Year

·

The Department of Education in Bicol (DepEd-5) is pushing for more parents and guardians to participate in the early registration drive for the 2025-2026 school year, targeting students entering Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11. As of February 4, 2025, over 140,000 students have already registered, according to Mayflor Marie Jumamil, head of DepEd Bicol’s Public Information Unit. The campaign, which started on January 25, is scheduled to end on February 15. Jumamil emphasized that the data from these early registrations will be crucial for planning and resource allocation in Bicol’s educational institutions. The breakdown of early enrollees includes 32,837 for Kindergarten, 51,307 for Grade 1, 32,913 for Grade 7, and 28,538 for Grade 11. DepEd Bicol aims to reach a total of 550,827 enrollees across the region’s 3,577 public schools. Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit their local public schools to pick up the free basic education early registration form, which is essential for collecting necessary student information.
