In a significant law enforcement effort spanning from November 23, 2024, to January 31, 2025, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) successfully apprehended 2,703 wanted individuals across Metro Manila. NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin announced that the operation resulted in the capture of 1,209 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and 1,494 Other Wanted Persons (OWPs). The arrests were carried out by the five police districts under the NCRPO’s jurisdiction: Manila, Quezon City, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Police Districts. Aberin emphasized that this achievement underscores the NCRPO’s relentless commitment to justice, sending a strong message that Metro Manila will not serve as a refuge for law evaders. He vowed to utilize all available resources to pursue fugitives and ensure justice for crime victims and their families.
In a related development, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) in Central Luzon conducted 619 anti-drug operations in January 2025, leading to the arrest of 914 suspects and the seizure of narcotics valued at PHP 26.2 million. PRO3 chief Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo detailed that the confiscated drugs included 3.76 kg of shabu, 4.9 kg of marijuana, and 26.24 grams of kush. Fajardo stressed that the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs in Central Luzon is a crucial fight for the safety, health, and future of the region’s communities. She affirmed PRO3’s determination to relentlessly pursue drug traffickers, particularly those targeting the youth, and to prevent the spread of illegal drugs within their communities.
