In a significant crackdown on illegal drug activities, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 4B in Mimaropa reported the seizure of more than 15.39 kilograms of illegal drugs valued at PHP101.6 million throughout 2024. This operation, led by PRO4B chief Brig. Gen. Roger Quesada, involved 402 operations and resulted in the apprehension of 475 suspects. The previous year, 2023, saw a smaller haul with 3.04 kilograms of drugs worth PHP8.57 million seized in 339 operations. Moving into 2025, the first 29 days saw 31 operations leading to the arrest of 35 suspects and the confiscation of nearly PHP1 million worth of shabu. Brig. Gen. Quesada praised the relentless efforts of his team and the collaborative work with other Philippine National Police units, emphasizing their commitment to community safety. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance enforcement strategies, boost community involvement, and employ advanced technology in their fight against drugs. The Mimaropa region includes the provinces of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
