CICC and Scam Watch Pilipinas Honored at Global Anti-Scam Awards

MANILA – The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) and Scam Watch Pilipinas have been celebrated as leading forces in the global fight against scams at the 2025 Scam Fighter of the Year Awards, organized by the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA). CICC’s Executive Director, Undersecretary Alexander Ramos, secured the runner-up position for Best Scam Fighting Individual, while the CICC itself was recognized as the runner-up for Best Scam Fighting Organization. Additionally, Scam Watch Pilipinas was lauded as one of the top three Best Scam Fighting Awareness Campaigns. The CICC expressed that this recognition is a testament to their global efforts against scams. In the same event, Kitboga, a well-known streamer and vlogger who engages in scam baiting, was named the Best Scam Fighting Individual of the Year. His work involves interacting with scammers to expose their methods and educate viewers. The Online Investigation and Awareness Team (OIAT) was awarded the Best Scam Fighting Organization for their educational platform, Watchlist Internet, which offers comprehensive information on scams and fraud prevention. The AARP Fraud Watch Network was also recognized as the Best Scam Fighting Awareness Campaign, focusing on safeguarding seniors from scams with tailored resources and guidance. GASA, an international coalition of government, private, and non-government organizations, aims to unite these groups to enhance consumer protection against scams. Its advisory board includes notable figures such as Amazon’s head of scam prevention, Abigail Bishop, and retired FBI Unit Chief, Donna Gregory.
