Tacloban City Police Seize P9.7 Million Worth of Shabu in Major Drug Bust

In a significant operation against illegal drugs, law enforcement officials in Tacloban City apprehended a suspect and confiscated shabu valued at PHP9.7 million. The arrest occurred during a buy-bust operation conducted on Wednesday night in Barangay 25, along Magsaysay Boulevard. The suspect, known by the alias Budoy, was caught with 1.43 kg of shabu, a 9mm pistol, and a magazine containing four live rounds of ammunition. The operation was a collaborative effort between the Tacloban City Police Station and the PDEA-8 Tacloban City Office, culminating around 10:22 p.m. Following the arrest, Budoy is now held at the local police station, facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and a violation of the election gun ban.
