Tacloban City Police and PDEA Seize P9.7 Million Shabu in Major Drug Bust

In a significant operation against illegal drugs, law enforcement officials from the Tacloban City Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted a successful buy-bust operation in Barangay 25, Magsaysay Boulevard, Tacloban City. The operation, which took place on the night of January 29, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a suspect known by the alias Budoy. The suspect was found in possession of 1.43 kilograms of shabu, valued at PHP9.7 million, along with a 9mm pistol and a magazine containing four live rounds of ammunition. The arrest was made around 10:22 p.m., and the suspect is currently detained at the local police station. He faces charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as RA 10591 for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and a violation of the election gun ban.
