In response to severe weather conditions, the town of Tubajon in Dinagat Islands has suspended classes at all educational levels. The decision was made by Mayor Simplicia Pedrablanca, who issued Executive Order No. 04 on Thursday, January 30, 2025, citing the dangers posed by the ongoing heavy rains and strong winds brought by the easterlies. The mayor’s order also bans all outdoor activities until the weather improves and safety can be guaranteed. Residents are urged to heed evacuation notices as a precautionary measure. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that the easterlies are causing scattered rains and thunderstorms across Caraga, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental, further justifying the local government’s actions.
