DICT’s eGovPH App Now Connects 30 Government Agencies, Enhancing Public Service Delivery

·

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has successfully integrated 30 government agencies into its eGovPH super app, creating a unified platform for various government services. DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy highlighted the app’s significance in simplifying access to government services during a Bagong Pilipinas interview. He stated that the platform is continuously expanding to include more agencies, aiming to streamline public interactions with government entities.

Secretary Uy addressed a common public grievance about the repetitive submission of information across different government services, pointing out the lack of data governance and standardization. The eGovPH app tackles these issues through a data exchange platform that standardizes data formats, facilitating smoother interactions between agencies.

The app also introduces ’24/7 governance,’ enabling citizens to engage with government services at any time, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Furthermore, it is linked with the national ID system, allowing 85 million registered citizens access to their digital national IDs.

Another key feature of the eGovPH app is the eReport system, which allows for real-time incident reporting. This system not only simplifies crime reporting but also enhances efficiency by directly sending relevant information to nearby police officers. This approach is more effective than traditional emergency call systems.

Secretary Uy explained that when a police officer responds to an incident reported through the app, the action is immediately communicated to headquarters and other officers, ensuring coordinated efforts and reducing unnecessary movement of personnel. The system has been piloted in San Juan City, where Mayor Francis Zamora has praised its effectiveness in improving police response and coordination.
