New Leadership at Quiapo Church: Fr. Ramon Jade Licuanan Appointed as Parish Priest

The Archdiocese of Manila has announced a significant change in leadership at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno, commonly referred to as Quiapo Church. Fr. Ramon Jade Licuanan has been named the new parish priest and rector, effective next month, as stated in Circular No. 2025-06 by Fr. Isidro Marinay, the Chancellor of the Manila Archdiocese. This appointment was made by His Eminence, Jose Cardinal Advincula. Fr. Licuanan steps into the role previously held by Fr. Rufino “Jun” Sescon Jr., who has moved on to serve as the new bishop of the Diocese of Balanga. Before this new assignment, Fr. Licuanan served as the parish priest at San Felipe Neri Parish in Mandaluyong City. Additionally, he holds positions as the Executive Secretary of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines – Episcopal Commission on Youth and as a Commissioner of the Manila Archdiocese – Commission on Youth.
