DSWD Expands F1KD Cash Grant to Include Pregnant Women and Toddlers

·

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has clarified that the First 1,000 Days (F1KD) conditional cash grant, part of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), extends its benefits to both pregnant women and children up to the age of two. This announcement was made by Marie Grace Ponce, the Chief of the 4Ps Social Marketing Division, during an episode of the 4Ps Fastbreak online talk show. The F1KD initiative, set to begin this month, is designed to improve nutrition among the beneficiaries of the 4Ps, building on the foundation of earlier health grants. To be eligible for the grant, recipients must comply with specific requirements, including attending prenatal checkups, ensuring hospital births, participating in postnatal visits, receiving counseling, and getting vaccinated. Beneficiaries are required to keep their information current through the i-Registro web portal or at municipal offices. The 4Ps, which started in 2008 and was formalized in 2019, aims to enhance the health, nutrition, and education of children through financial assistance.
