Angeles City Unveils Groundbreaking Emergency Response App

·

In a significant move to bolster emergency services, Angeles City in Pampanga introduced its pioneering emergency response mobile application on January 28, 2025. Named Angeleño Alerto! 24/7 Mobile App – Personal On-call Guard Interface (POGI), the app was launched with a demonstration to showcase its functionality and effectiveness. Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. highlighted that the app allows residents to report incidents directly and share their precise locations with emergency teams from the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO), headed by Rodolfo Simeon. The mayor stressed the importance of the app in reducing response times, which is critical in life-saving situations. IC Calaguas, the mayor’s political adviser, who played a key role in the app’s development alongside Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, noted that the app’s location-sharing feature enhances the accuracy of emergency responses, even when direct communication is not possible. Calaguas emphasized that the app, which is free and easy to download, empowers residents by making help readily accessible. The app’s rollout includes user and responder registration, followed by the dispatch of emergency services from ACDRRMO, the Bureau of Fire Protection — Angeles City, and the Angeles City Traffic and Management Enforcement Unit. Detailed instructions for using the app will be available on the Angeles City Information Office’s Facebook page. This initiative is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance disaster preparedness and ensure public safety.
