Three Weather Systems to Drench Various Philippine Regions

·

MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecasted that three distinct weather systems will cause rainfall across different parts of the Philippines on Monday. Eastern Visayas is expected to see scattered rains and thunderstorms due to a shear line. Similarly, the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental will face scattered rains and thunderstorms, influenced by the easterlies. PAGASA has cautioned that these areas might experience moderate to heavy rains, which could lead to flash floods or landslides. In contrast, the northeast monsoon will bring light rains to Batanes and sporadic light showers across the rest of Luzon. The remainder of the country can expect isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the easterlies. Northern and Central Luzon will see moderate to strong winds and rough seas, while other regions will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal conditions. PAGASA also reported no low pressure areas that could develop into tropical cyclones at this time.
