MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecasted that three distinct weather systems will bring rain to various parts of the Philippines on Monday. Eastern Visayas is expected to see scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the influence of a shear line. Similarly, the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental are set to experience scattered rains and thunderstorms, driven by the easterlies. PAGASA has cautioned that these areas might face moderate to heavy rainfall, which could lead to flash floods or landslides. In contrast, the northeast monsoon is expected to bring light rains to Batanes, with isolated light showers across the rest of Luzon. The rest of the country will likely see isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Northern and Central Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas, while other regions will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters. PAGASA also reported that no low pressure areas are currently being monitored for potential tropical cyclone development.
