The 2025 Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City ended on a high note, with the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) reporting a safe and secure event devoid of any major incidents. The festival, celebrated for its vibrant display of Iloilo’s culture and heritage, maintained its reputation as a peaceful gathering, thanks to the meticulous planning and execution by local authorities and volunteers.
A total of 7,257 police officers were deployed across critical areas including performance venues, food festival zones, concert sites, parade routes, and transportation hubs. Their presence ensured that minor issues such as cases of loss of consciousness, hyperventilation, and intoxication were swiftly managed, allowing the festivities to continue uninterrupted.
Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas praised the collaborative efforts that contributed to the festival’s success. Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas also extended his gratitude to the Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI), acknowledging their dedication and volunteer spirit which played a crucial role in making Dinagyang 2025 a standout event in the Philippines.
The festival concluded with the announcement of winners across various competitions. Tribu Paghidaet from La Paz National High Schools emerged as the champion of the Tribes Competition. Other notable winners included Tultugan Festival for Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, Bailes de Luces from La Castellana, Negros Occidental for ILOmination, Tribu Familia Sagasa as the Darling of the Crowd for SadSad Sa Calle Real, and Jollibee Foods Corporation for the Festive Parade Sponsors Mardi Gras.
