CHED to Investigate Bestlink College for Unapproved Off-Campus Event

MANILA – The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) announced on Monday that it will send a show cause order to Bestlink College after an unauthorized off-campus event that reportedly endangered student safety. CHED Chairperson J. Prospero de Vera III stated via Viber that the college failed to submit necessary documents to CHEDRO-NCR before organizing the event in Novaliches, Quezon City. Social media reports from students highlighted issues such as chaotic transportation arrangements, extreme heat, lack of lodging, and severe fatigue during the college’s founding anniversary celebration held off-campus. The local government has called on educational institutions to focus on student safety and to plan large events more responsibly, especially after the event led to significant traffic issues and raised safety alarms. Bestlink College has not yet commented on the situation.
