MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Sunday that the combined effects of easterlies and the northeast monsoon, known locally as ‘amihan,’ will result in cloudy conditions with rain throughout the Philippines. According to the 4 a.m. weather update, regions such as Caraga, Davao Region, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi are expected to see cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms, influenced by the easterlies. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will continue to bring chilly conditions to Metro Manila and the broader Luzon area, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and occasional light showers. Other parts of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, also due to the easterlies. In northern and central Luzon, moderate to strong northeast winds are expected, along with moderate coastal waters. Temperatures across the country are forecasted to range from 22.2 °C to 31.6 °C.
