In a significant blow to drug trafficking in Taguig City, local police successfully conducted a buy-bust operation on Wednesday night, leading to the arrest of 33-year-old Sherhana Hatae, identified as a high-value target. The operation, executed around 11:40 p.m. in Barangay South Signal, resulted in the seizure of three plastic bags containing 708.5 grams of shabu, valued at approximately PHP4.8 million, along with the buy-bust money.

Sherhana Hatae, a resident of Guadalupe, Makati City, was apprehended by the Taguig City Police Station (TCPS), which has been actively engaged in combating illegal drugs. This recent operation adds to the station’s impressive record, having previously been recognized nationally during the 123rd Police Service Anniversary in August 2024 for over 1,700 drug-related arrests.

The TCPS’s efforts are part of a broader anti-drug campaign in the region. In Central Luzon, the Police Regional Office (PRO3) reported the seizure of PHP12.7 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 343 suspects, including 17 high-value individuals, over an 11-day period from January 10 to 21. The operations led to the confiscation of 1.85 kg of shabu and 751 grams of marijuana.

Brig. Jean Fajardo, the PRO3 chief, emphasized the ongoing commitment to eradicating illegal drugs, stating, “These arrests send a clear message to drug syndicates that our fight against illegal drugs will not waver. We are strengthening our partnerships with local governments, communities, and other law enforcement agencies to prevent these substances from reaching our streets.”
