The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has restarted its national ID registration at various malls in Western Visayas, urging Ilonggos, particularly parents, to bring their children to the registration centers. Jared Barile, the PSA’s focal person for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in the region, emphasized the importance of registering children during an interview on Thursday. In Iloilo, registration is facilitated at SM City Iloilo daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Robinsons from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and at Gaisano in Balasan town from Sunday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Other locations include Ayala Malls Capitol Central, SM City Bacolod, Robinsons Mall along Lacson Street, and Gaisano Grand City Central in Negros Occidental and Bacolod, as well as City Mall Cadiz, Gaisano Grand Mall in Silay, and Victorias City Mall in Victorias. In Capiz, registration is available at Robinsons Place and other fixed PSA offices. These centers are open to registrants of all ages, with demographic updates available at fixed locations. The PSA has set a target to register 52,155 individuals in Western Visayas by the first quarter of 2025. As of January 20, about 6.9 million residents have been registered, with 4.35 million having received their PVC cards. The PSA is also gearing up to register infants under one year old by collaborating with hospitals to establish registration centers. Registration numbers in the region include 544,000 in Aklan, 539,000 in Antique, 680,000 in Capiz, 159,000 in Guimaras, 2.2 million in Iloilo, and 2.7 million in Negros Occidental.
