In a series of operations across the Bicol region, the Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO-5) apprehended 13 suspects and seized illegal drugs valued at over PHP1 million on January 23, 2025. The crackdown took place in various locations, with the highest value of drugs, amounting to PHP683,900, being confiscated in Camarines Sur, where three individuals were arrested. Camarines Norte followed with six arrests and drugs worth PHP202,920, while Naga City saw two arrests with drugs valued at PHP159,800. Smaller amounts were seized in Albay and Catanduanes, with one arrest in each location, totaling PHP6,868 and PHP319 respectively. Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon, the director of PRO-5, praised the teams involved for their dedication and professionalism. He emphasized that the battle against illegal drugs is essential for public safety and community peace, reaffirming the police’s commitment to intensifying efforts while respecting due process and the rights of those detained.
